Saturday 19Concerto Amsterdam. Utrechtsestraat 52-60. 13:00 – 15:00 (finish sharp). A meet-up of four celebrated British and American contemporary writers with strong links to Amsterdam.
Chad Bilyeu – aka “Chad in Amsterdam” – still lives and works in Mokkum. His graphic novel series, Chad in Amsterdam, and The Re-Up brilliantly chronicle the hassles and hustles of everyday life.
Ali Millar lived here in the early 2000s: she is well-known for her uncompromising titles Ada, Anna, Ava and The Last Days – in which she touches on her time here.
Jeff Young lived in the Amsterdam squat scene in the early 1980s, a time he captures san pareil in his latest book, Wild Twin.
Richard Foster lives in Leiden and works R*tterd*m. His autofiction novels Flower Factory and The Punk Rock Birdwatching Club chronicle the counterculture of the Bollenstreek and Randstad in the early 2000s…
